Joe Flacco supports Damar Hamlin’s case for ‘Comeback Player of the Year’ despite odds between fans
Cleveland Browns quarterback Joe Flacco has chosen to direct his attention toward the ‘Comeback Player of the Year.’ And he already has the most deserving candidate shortlisted!
Despite having a reviving season of his own, Flacco endorses for Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin as the most deserving to win the award, in his recent appearance on Zach Gelb Show on CBS Sports, last Friday.
I just think mentally to get yourself back to the point where you feel comfortable doing that kind of thing, obviously the physical part doesn’t need any explanation, but the mental part, especially at his position, is pretty cool.-Joe Flacco said
Last season, the Bills safety was hit with a cardiac arrest in the middle of the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, after which he was resuscitated and immediately taken to the hospital. He was hospitalized for nine days after the incident, but fortunately, he was out of danger.
Upon his return, he played three games this season, two of which were playoff games including the divisional-round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs which got the Bills eliminated this season.

Hamlin has already won the Pro Football Writers of America’s version award for his return in the 2023 season. He’s also up for the Associated Press award against the Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford and Flacco.
For the Comeback Player of the Year award, Hamlin has accumulated -400 odds while Flacco is at +320 odds to win.
